A very early example of the Fitzhugh pattern with extremely detailed and high quality decoration. The plate also has decoration on the reverse side of the rim which is rare to see on similar examples. Take a moment and study the details of this decoration and compare to similar examples available online.

Some background on the Fitzhugh pattern:
The name Fitzhugh for this pattern derives from an association with a blue and white service ordered around 1780 by Englishman Thomas Fitzhugh. Thomas Fitzhugh served from 1786 to 1800 in Guangzhou (Canton) as a director of the British East India Company
